Today we had another fabulously fun Healthy Hangout Event on the upper east side of Manhattan. I taught an hour Yoga/Pilates mixed class and then we kicked off our discussion on Gratitude with Professional Success Coach Ivy Slater.

I went in with my current understanding of gratitude and left with inspiration to kick it up a notch.

Having an attitude of gratitude makes you more aware of yourself, your life, and how you see the world. When you appreciate what you have, you not only begin to enjoy life in the moment more, but you change your perspective overall and the result is that you end up happier in your day to day life. If that is not the goal, then what is?

Another added bonus of having an attitude of gratitude is that the newer more positive energy you are sending out into the world attracts more of what you want to you. What you focus on expands, so if you are grateful for your income, your income will increase. It’s the law of attraction at work, and it is working whether you accept that it is or not. So might as well accept it so that you can design your life the way you desire, instead of having life sort of ‘happen’ to you.

I did a little experiment in March where I wrote down 5 things a day that I was grateful for. I did not permit myself any repeats. I came up with SO MUCH!! And my gratitude and appreciation for those around me definitely showed more. As a result people were happy to be around me and I was more fulfilled in my day to day life and relationships. I woke up happier and smiled more. I smiled at strangers and most of the time they smiled back, and when they didn’t- it didn’t matter! I love this gratitude game, and today I am re-inspired to try it again. Please try it with me!

Just write down 5 things a day you are grateful for with no repeats for 30 days. See what happens and what comes up for you. I’d love to hear about it, so please share.

I am grateful for YOU!!!
