So what is the final key in keeping weight loss off for good? Are you ready?? Here it is:

When developing these new healthy habits, it is CRITICAL that you develop your own Accountability Team.

Your conscious mind controls up to 4% of what you do. That means that 96% of your actions aren’t really up to you. Your subconscious is driving you, and that means that it will fight to keep you in old habits and comfort zones. You MUST have an accountability team in place to help you pull out from where you are stuck and get you into the life of your dreams!

WHY does accountability work? You are supported, for one. You set a date every week to check in, and you know you need to accomplish your goals for that week before your next check in. Your subconscious does a funny thing- it runs you by your emotions, and it doesn’t want the other person or persons to be disappointed. You naturally want to make the best impression possible, so you just keep on keeping on. It really works!! Without accountability, you drop off at the first dip in motivation. Usually about a week in. So, if you work out and eat healthy for a week, are you making progress in losing weight. NO. And that’s that.

Here are a few ideas on how to set up your Accountability Team: 

Get a friend who has similar goals and commit to a weekly phone call, get together or even just an email to let the other know which of your promises you kept, and which didn’t hold up and why. It’s actually better if you don’t know the person that well. This way, when you don’t quite make your mark for the week, you are more uncomfortable about confessing to that person. You naturally want to make a good impression.

Join an online forum, such as my Fit & Healthy Tribe. There will be a bunch of other people with similar interests and goals, and this sort of atmosphere is super conducive to getting things done!! You are constantly challenged with thought provoking questions, videos and Q&A calls that you can pop into. Plus, I get on there a few times per week and put in my 2 cents.

If you’re not sure these options will offer what it takes to get you moving, I also offer a 3 month program called “Get That Goal”, and there are several methods in which I hold you accountable for your goals. This is where I work with you one on one, for a minimum of three months to help get you where you want to be. I only take 3 new clients per month and it is first come first serve.

The friend option is the least expensive, and also the option that provides the least results. The reason is, you have less at stake. When you put your money on the table, you are more willing to ACT!! You have placed value on the program, and you take action to get the most bang for your buck. The Tribe is only $8.09 per month, but it is more likely to get you where you need to be. You will constantly be engaged, and because you put money on the table, you will show up.
