I just finished my planks and here’s the report: Today is going to be a split plank assignment. So I turned on my iTunes, and I got out my magazine (an article about the 60 best vacation destinations for families- it was actually good!), and I started the timer. Right now, my record is 4 minutes, so I took off a minute 20 and did 2:40 for the first round. Then I rested for 1:30 and then back up for another 2:20.

I beat my last split session by 10 seconds on each end, and have 5 minutes total. NO, when you hit the goal of 10 minutes at the end of the 60 days it will NOT be split up. You are doing the splits to build yourself up. Adding 10 seconds every day works sometimes, but not always. You have to do a little dance with these planks and split them up here and there.

It’s also important to supplement your workouts. Use the ab workout on the days when the assignments are easier. I sent that video in an earlier post. Comment here if you would like me to repost. It’s just a 10 minute ab workout, and yes it does include 2 planks, but it’s so much more than that. I will be sending you a shoulder workout in the next couple of days to help supplement those shoulder muscles. They are getting an isometric workout every day! I don’t know about you, but when I come out of my planks, my shoulders are crazy pumped!

======================================

Assignments for today:

BASIC: Split your planks- 1 minute 10 seconds for the first one, rest 1 minutes. Then crank out another minute.

OVERACHIEVER: Take your top record and cut anywhere from a minute to a minute and a half off of it. Do that time. Then rest 1:30 (stretch wrists and back) and then go back into your plank for as long as you can.
