ABOUT MIRANDA

My mission is to help women get the most out of life by fully harnessing the power of their health & well being

If you’ve ever heard yourself say “I’m going to exercise more!”, and really really meant it, but just couldn’t get yourself to DO anything about it, then you’re in the right place. I help women achieve their fitness, health, & weight goals by teaching them how to GET THEMSELVES to take consistent action. When you learn the simple strategy to get your habits to stick, you can alter your life & health in ways that you can’t even imagine from where you stand today.

If you’re here on this page, you’re curious to find out if you and I could work well together, and you’re interested in finding out a little info on how I got to be where I’m at today. So here’s a little background:

My mother put me into dance classes as soon as I could walk. Fast forward to high school graduation. I had been dancing all that time in between and at age 19 I became a professional dance teacher. The performance aspect of my dance background led to acting and singing as well. I performed in several musicals throughout high school, college and beyond. In 1990 I was a student at New World School of the Arts in Miami as a dance major. I had to take several classes, one of which was Pilates. Little did I know at that time that Pilates would become a trend that I would be teaching in NYC a decade later.

I became a certified group fitness instructor in 1997 when I was looking for a way to expand my horizons, blow up my comfort zone, and make more money while performing in a version of “Oklahoma” at a local dinner theater. I made enough money to make a move, and decided – Hey why not pursue acting in NYC?!

I took the leap. The first job I got in NYC was a waitress at a bar in Chelsea. One of my new friends there was a Personal Trainer. It was right up my alley and I was inspired. Since I had been a group fitness instructor and a dance teacher, I figured I could make the switch to training. I walked into a NYSC and was hired on the spot as a ‘floor trainer’. To make my way up in the training ranks I tagged along with other trainers and met lots of members, growing my network and my knowledge at the same time.

I got a few clients from NYSC and found that I was in love with helping people in this way. I loved working one on one with people to help them become healthier in all aspects of their lives. I loved seeing the results of our work together. I dropped acting altogether because helping people live healthier lives was so much more rewarding.

I was in LOVE with this new life!

From NYSC I moved on to Synergy Fitness on 81st and 3rd. I loved working there and had many clients of all different walks of life. I settled in happily and stayed there for 2 years.  Managers came and went and started to make big messes of everything. I decided to take the leap and go out on my own. I worked nonstop and soon hit the ceiling of how many clients I could work with. I despised turning people away, so I figured I needed to clone myself. I met with other trainers who were as eager to help people as I was and started building my team.

From there I began working as a Group Fitness Instructor again at Equinox Fitness Clubs so that I could affect more people in a positive way, be more interactive, stay current, and challenge myself.
